Responsibilities

• ▹Own outcomes, not tickets: pick the biggest lever for customers each sprint and drive it to live, then surface the next one yourself
• ▹Build with AI as a primary tool, not a chatbot bolt-on: OCR, document understanding, generation, agent loops, evaluation harnesses
• ▹Ship prototypes fast, then make them production-grade
• ▹Work directly with customers: see real claims, underwriting screens and broker workflows, spot where users hit dead ends and fix them
• ▹Raise the bar on the codebase through reviews, refactors, testability and observability
• ▹Push the team forward by proposing, building and getting adopted new skills, agents, internal tools and engineering standards

Requirements

• ▹A track record of shipping, not just having ideas
• ▹High agency — you don't wait for a card to be assigned, you see what's worth doing and start
• ▹Strong opinions, loosely held — you decide with incomplete information and change your mind when evidence shifts
• ▹Curiosity about the insurance domain
• ▹Proven experience shipping something real with LLMs or AI agents
• ▹Genuine care for the people the product ultimately serves
• ▹Comfortable working across the team's toolbox (Node.js, TypeScript, Nest.js, Vue/React, GraphQL, MongoDB, Docker, AWS) — no need to have used every piece already, but must pick up new tools quickly
