Technical Product Manager

Product Manager • Remote • Vollzeit Portugal Portugal

Technical Product Manager owning an end-to-end product vertical, such as payments, remittance, insurance or wealth and trading, at BJAK's Southeast Asian neobank superapp, combining product strategy with technical and regulatory delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Own a product vertical end-to-end: outcomes and metrics, a backlog prioritized by value, risk, dependency and strategic priority, and acceptance criteria crisp enough to build and test against
  • Shape technical design with engineering: system boundaries, money-movement correctness such as idempotency, ledgering and reconciliation, third-party-rail reliance and rail-down behavior, failure/retry/refund paths, security, latency, scalability and recovery
  • Make trade-offs across correctness, speed, cost, reliability and UX, and defend them to engineering, compliance or ops leads
  • Treat regulated constraints as first-class product inputs: licensing scope, CDD/KYC and limits, sanctions/PEP screening, transaction monitoring, data residency and privacy
  • Apply AI where it earns its place: define what it is allowed to decide, where a human stays in the loop, how it is evaluated, and what it does when unsure
  • Ship feature-complete work behind flags, going live per rail as each partner and regulatory gate clears
  • Work across Engineering, Design, Compliance, Operations, Treasury and Finance/Reconciliation

Requirements

  • Significant experience owning a complex technical product end-to-end
  • Strong judgement and decisiveness under ambiguity
  • Ability to balance ambition against technical, regulatory and operational reality
  • Solid system design foundation covering system boundaries, datastores and queues/workflows
