Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Develop server-side logic that delivers high performance and responsive communication between front-end and back-end systems
• ▹Maintain and advance the Python web application stack (VarSome Clinical, VarSome.com, VarSome API)
• ▹Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, critical testing, performance optimization, and frontend coordination
• ▹Partner with frontend engineers, product managers, and domain experts to scope work and unblock dependencies
• ▹Participate in deployment, monitoring, and on-call rotations

Requirements

• ▹BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
• ▹At least 3 years of experience as a back-end engineer with Python in Django/Django Rest Framework in a production environment
• ▹Solid understanding of software design principles and best practices
• ▹Familiarity with building RESTful APIs and active participation in code reviews
• ▹Good experience with relational databases, MariaDB experience strongly preferred
• ▹Familiarity with unit, integration, and functional testing
• ▹Fluency in English, written and spoken
