Project Lead - Electricity Planning

Responsibilities

• ▹Design the API architecture: model energy contracts, controllable assets (batteries, EVs, PV, water heaters) and arbitrage strategies
• ▹Make structuring technical decisions: relational vs. time-series database, message queue, caching, deployment
• ▹Write and maintain the Laravel code that computes arbitrage and exposes the API to internal clients and integrator partners
• ▹Integrate heterogeneous price sources across dozens of countries: spot prices, regulated tariffs, dynamic tariffs, custom contracts
• ▹Optimize computation time and API scalability (Octane, Horizon, queues, parallelization)
• ▹Set up tests, monitoring and observability to guarantee production quality
• ▹Document the API and its business concepts for internal teams and integrators
• ▹Work closely with the pricing data team and product teams defining new use cases

Requirements

• ▹Degree from a recognized higher education institution, engineering school, university or equivalent, ideally with business-oriented further training
• ▹5 to 8 years of engineering experience
• ▹Passion for energy and programming
• ▹Familiarity with Home Assistant
• ▹Ability to model a business domain cleanly, including complex energy contracts (peak/off-peak hours, seasonal tariffs, curtailment days)
• ▹Curiosity about the energy sector, including understanding negative spot prices, home batteries and inverters
• ▹Autonomy: able to self-organize, prioritize and communicate clearly in writing, in both French and English, in a fully remote setting
