Senior Backend Engineer (Ruby)

Responsibilities

• ▹Own and evolve the technical vision for Ruby on Rails applications and backend services
• ▹Build and maintain robust RESTful APIs with secure authentication and authorization
• ▹Design scalable solutions on AWS, including RDS, Lambda and Kubernetes workloads
• ▹Identify and resolve bottlenecks, improve API speed and caching/database strategies
• ▹Establish deployment pipelines, coding standards and code review practices
• ▹Embed security-by-default across the SDLC, in line with ISO 27001 and SOC2
• ▹Work closely with frontend teams, product managers and stakeholders
• ▹Create and maintain technical documentation and design specifications
• ▹Lead root cause analysis during critical production incidents

Requirements

• ▹4+ years of professional Ruby on Rails experience, understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript and MVC
• ▹Strong database experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL, AWS RDS and ActiveRecord
• ▹Proficiency with RSpec, Git, mocking and unit testing
• ▹Experience with GraphQL APIs
• ▹Experience in AWS cloud environments
• ▹Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines in fast-paced organizations
• ▹Experience designing and implementing features using AI-powered workflows
