Scrum Master (Information Technology/Software/Remote)

An international IT services client is looking for a B2B contract Scrum Master to work remotely within the EU, supporting a major client's IT team through full sprint cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and facilitate agile ceremonies: daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, backlog refinement
  • Ensure meetings are positive, productive and kept within the timebox
  • Collaborate closely with the product owner to manage the backlog
  • Coach the team and product owner on empiricism, value-based backlog slicing and incremental delivery
  • Track and radiate flow metrics such as velocity, sprint burndown and iteration burn rate
  • Champion and facilitate adoption of agile standards, tools and best practices
  • Proactively identify and resolve impediments to team progress
  • Promote empowered, self-organizing teams, shared vision, psychological safety and collaborative decisions
  • Uphold the Definition of Done and quality gates
  • Communicate with other Scrum Masters and product owners across the organization for transparency

Requirements

  • University degree and at least 8 years of IT professional experience
  • At least 3 years of dedicated experience as a Scrum Master at SM2 level or above
  • Led at least 2 production teams through full sprint cycles: planning, review, retrospective, refinement
  • Implemented data-driven continuous improvement initiatives, such as increasing velocity or reducing lead time
  • Coordinated cross-team work via Scrum-of-Scrums or PI Planning events
  • Deep knowledge of the Scrum Guide and Agile Manifesto
  • Knowledge of facilitation techniques such as Fist of Five, participatory decision-making, Liberating Structures
  • Knowledge of systems thinking and process tailoring for complex or evolving environments
  • Knowledge of team motivation and stakeholder engagement techniques
  • Knowledge of agile metrics such as velocity, cycle time, burn-up/down charts, cumulative flow diagrams, and building dashboards from them
  • Tool proficiency in Azure DevOps (preferred) or Jira, particularly backlog management, dashboards and workflow configuration
  • PSM II (or higher) and SAFe 5/6 Agilist certifications
  • Excellent command of English

Nice to have

  • Experience with one or more scaled agile frameworks such as SAFe, Nexus, LeSS
  • Knowledge of integrating SAFe and Kanban approaches to optimize flow and delivery predictability
