Senior Security Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Own infrastructure security: design, implement, and improve security controls including hardening, network segmentation, IAM, and endpoint security across the fleet
• ▹Lead the technical direction for cyber security defense: enterprise posture management, threat detection, vulnerability management
• ▹Partner with ITOps, SysOps, DevOps, and XOps to embed security into architecture and change management processes
• ▹Develop and maintain the SIEM strategy and surrounding infrastructure for proactive visibility
• ▹Educate and coach engineering teams on secure system design

Requirements

• ▹Extensive experience with GCP permissions and security configurations within Kubernetes, Azure, and on-prem environments
• ▹High proficiency in intrusion detection, exploit development, Linux operations and security
• ▹Proven ability to identify gaps in cloud designs and recommend enhancements for authentication and authorization
• ▹Ability to distill complex security risks into actionable insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders
• ▹Proven track record of managing large projects with complex deliverables, foreseeing roadblocks

Nice to have

• ▹Industry-recognized credentials such as CISSP, Google Security Engineer, or GIAC
• ▹Deep hands-on experience with open source SIEM solutions and Google Security Operations or Google Security Command Center
• ▹A philosophy that views security as a craft, balancing strict principles with pragmatic business needs
• ▹Leadership: leading people you do not directly manage
