Senior Software Engineer, Firefox Security

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Advance Firefox's security architecture and cryptography stack (cryptographic protocols, WebPKI, security-sensitive web APIs)
• ▹Design and implement web platform security features, ship standards-based implementations
• ▹Improve browser reliability, performance and resource efficiency, analyze memory usage in a multi-threaded environment
• ▹Collaborate with other teams on security initiatives, debugging and root cause analysis
• ▹Participate in technical design, design reviews and project planning

Requirements

• ▹Strong software engineering and security fundamentals, proficiency in C/C++
• ▹Solid understanding of cryptographic protocols and implementations
• ▹Experience building and maintaining complex, security-sensitive, large-scale software systems
• ▹Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in multi-threaded, cross-platform native applications
• ▹Effective collaboration with distributed teams, clear technical communication
• ▹Growth mindset and curiosity about browser security, cryptography and systems programming
• ▹Familiarity with web technologies, comfortable in large, complex, multi-language codebases

• ▹Interest or experience in Rust
