Technical Solutions Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Respond to customer product inquiries via telephone or written email
• ▹Resolve customer concerns raised during installation, operation, maintenance or product application/compatibility matters
• ▹Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and recommend corrective action
• ▹Document customer communication and recurring technical issues to support product quality programs
• ▹Perform recreates in a dedicated lab environment

Requirements

• ▹Working knowledge of the networking industry, products and protocols
• ▹1-5 years of hands-on experience designing, deploying, configuring, supporting and troubleshooting network protocols and technologies (AAA/TACACS, ACL, ARP, BGP, DHCP, Ethernet, ICMP, IGMP, IPv4/IPv6, LACP, LLDP, MPLS, NAT, OpenFlow, OSPF, PIM, QoS, RIP, sFlow, SNMP, STP/RSTP/MST, VARP/VRRP, VLAN, VRF)
• ▹Experience with troubleshooting tools such as IXIA, tcpdump and Wireshark
• ▹Strong comfort level with Linux
• ▹MS degree in a technical field (CS/EE/ITP preferred)

• ▹Programming/scripting skills (C++, Java, Python, Perl, JavaScript, shell)
• ▹Industry certifications
• ▹Prior TAC experience
