Responsibilities

• ▹Architect and implement distributed systems handling high throughput and concurrency for Twilio Voice
• ▹Design low-latency, high-scale APIs for real-time data access
• ▹Optimize and manage distributed database environments
• ▹Own the full development lifecycle from design to 24x7 production operation
• ▹Collaborate across engineering teams on distributed systems problems

Requirements

• ▹Master's or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of software engineering experience, backend/infrastructure focus
• ▹Deep understanding of distributed systems: consistency models, partition tolerance, scaling stateful services
• ▹Proficiency in Java, Spring, Dropwizard and building RESTful APIs at scale
• ▹Practical experience with PostgreSQL, Aurora or similar relational databases
• ▹Familiarity with deploying and managing large-scale services on AWS or GCP
• ▹Comfortable in an agile build-it-run-it environment

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with ClickHouse or other column-oriented databases for analytical queries
