Senior Software Engineer, Platform

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Make high-quality, data-driven decisions on building the current and next-generation production platform
• ▹Own how code is tested, built, and deployed in a high-scale PaaS environment
• ▹Collaborate company-wide on designing production systems, standards, and technology choices
• ▹Deliver results predictably and safely, even while systems keep running
• ▹Create and maintain comprehensive internal documentation
• ▹Participate in incident management, evolving sensible operational practices

Requirements

• ▹Strong experience in non-abstract systems design and implementation
• ▹Strong proficiency in Python and Golang, in-depth Kubernetes experience (CKA or equivalent)
• ▹Experience with observability principles, including SLI/SLO definition and tracking
• ▹Strong written and verbal communication, experience with globally distributed teams
• ▹Passion for reliability and operational excellence
• ▹Ability to estimate scope of work accurately and coordinate on risk with stakeholders
• ▹Experience with software best practices: code review, testing, CI/CD, version control, automation

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with a SaaS/PaaS product across multiple cloud providers
• ▹Experience with the specific stack: CircleCI, Chronosphere (Prometheus), Splunk, Bazel, Istio, Playwright, Karpenter, GitHub Actions
• ▹Knowledge of AWS, GCP, and especially Azure internals and quirks
• ▹On-call rotation experience
• ▹Experience with Apache Airflow
