Staff IT Engineer for Automation & AI transformation

Responsibilities

• ▹Architect, build, and iterate a toolchain fusing traditional automation tools (e.g. n8n) with spec-driven design and agentic working, tested on IT and Security
• ▹Advocate, mentor, and enable early adopter teams to use the platform and iterate based on feedback
• ▹Build self-sustaining cultural practices and scale the platform across the organisation
• ▹Drive the evolution of IT operations towards an as-code infrastructure model through hands-on architecture and design
• ▹Contribute to the IT/Security operating model as the company moves towards build-not-buy teams
• ▹Mentor and level up the IT engineering team, then wider departments
• ▹Champion shared automation and AI platforms and methodologies across departments

Requirements

• ▹Demonstrated experience at Staff or Principal Engineer level, ideally in an established, cloud-native hypergrowth SaaS environment
• ▹Hands-on builder and systems thinker, with a background in coding, ideally in a platform or SRE team
• ▹Track record of successful AI-native adoption, moving workflows from experimental prompts to production-grade automated workflows or agents
• ▹Deep technical mastery of infrastructure-as-code, modern CI/CD (e.g. GitHub Actions), and workflow orchestration (e.g. n8n, Zapier)
• ▹Pragmatic engineering mindset balancing agentic working speed with financial efficiency
• ▹Great leadership and communication skills, able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
