DevOps Engineer (Deployment)

Responsibilities

• ▹Own the end-to-end release and deployment lifecycle: build, package, deploy, verify, rollback
• ▹Develop and support Octopus Deploy projects, lifecycles, channels, variables and processes
• ▹Implement deployment automation with Ansible (playbooks, roles, inventories)
• ▹Maintain Git-based release workflows in GitHub (branching, tagging, versioning)
• ▹Build and maintain CI pipelines in GitHub Actions to trigger Octopus releases
• ▹Standardize deployment patterns with shared templates and reusable Ansible roles
• ▹Manage environment configuration and secrets in a controlled way
• ▹Improve deployment safety with approvals, health checks, smoke tests and rollback strategies
• ▹Support production releases and troubleshoot deployment failures
• ▹Maintain release documentation and runbooks
• ▹Collaborate with developers, QA and operations on release planning

Requirements

• ▹Experience as a DevOps, Release or Deployment Engineer supporting production deployments
• ▹Strong hands-on Octopus Deploy experience (process design, variables, multi-environment releases)
• ▹Strong Ansible skills for deployment and configuration
• ▹Strong working knowledge of GitHub: PR workflows, tagging, releases, permissions
• ▹Understanding of CI/CD concepts: artifact management, versioning, promotion between environments
• ▹Administration and troubleshooting skills on Windows and/or Linux hosts
• ▹Ability to diagnose deployment issues across app, OS, network and configuration layers

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with Terraform and infrastructure provisioning
• ▹Scripting with PowerShell and/or Bash
• ▹Monitoring and observability basics: Prometheus/Grafana, logs
• ▹Experience with IIS/.NET deployments, Nginx or reverse proxies
• ▹Familiarity with container-based deployments: Docker/Kubernetes
• ▹Experience managing VOIP components
