Senior Ubuntu Embedded IoT System Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Provide software and system engineering services to OEM/ODM customers
• ▹Work with partners during platform bring-up
• ▹Identify, triage, and fix critical problems
• ▹Find and apply patches in upstream projects
• ▹Root cause analysis and bug reproduction
• ▹Facilitate communication between Ubuntu, firmware, and hardware teams
• ▹Occasional international travel (EU, USA, Taiwan, China)

Requirements

• ▹Bachelor's or higher STEM degree (CS or Electrical Engineering)
• ▹Exceptional academic track record
• ▹Professional English, strong presentation skills
• ▹Familiarity with C, Python, and Bash
• ▹Knowledge of Linux boot process and kernel-level architecture
• ▹Bootloader development experience (e.g., u-boot)
• ▹Software development on ARM or non-x86 platforms
• ▹Linux debugging abilities

Nice to have

• ▹System firmware knowledge (uboot, UEFI, ACPI, DSDT)
• ▹Power management debugging (PCI ASPM, SATA ALPM)
• ▹Board design and bring-up experience
