Canonical, an open source software company, is hiring a software engineer to work on next-generation open source container and virtualisation technology (VMM, LXD, Kubernetes, OpenStack), spanning from the kernel to userspace. Work in Go, Rust or C/C++ in a fully remote role available in any timezone.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Design and specify new features
  • ▹Engage with upstream open source communities
  • ▹Conduct security analysis and reviews
  • ▹Create and monitor performance benchmarks
  • ▹Write high quality code
  • ▹Debug and fix issues

Requirements

  • ▹Excellent Go, Rust or C/C++ programming skills
  • ▹Experience with container or virtualisation technology (Docker, LXD, Kubernetes, OpenStack)
  • ▹Open source development experience

Nice to have

  • ▹Kernel-level networking and storage knowledge
  • ▹Experience with OCI containers or microservice architecture
