Weekend DevOps Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Improve existing infrastructure and processes in the 6 countries currently deployed and streamline deployment to new countries
• ▹Holistically improve the DevOps infrastructure: reduce costs, streamline environment provisioning, lower response times and adopt the latest techniques
• ▹Monitor and maintain the cloud infrastructure via autoscaling, automated alerts, and OpsWorks and Grafana dashboards
• ▹Take ownership of cloud operation activities
• ▹Liaise with external security agencies for annual audits and perform internal security sweeps
• ▹Help reconfigure existing architecture for rapid deployment to new countries
• ▹Mentor less experienced team members

Requirements

• ▹3+ years of DevOps experience
• ▹Must be based in Europe, Asia or LatAm
• ▹Experience independently leading the planning and deployment of a project
• ▹Experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS
• ▹Understanding of modern microservices and service mesh concepts
• ▹Experience managing Kubernetes, including CI/CD with Kubernetes
• ▹Solid networking knowledge, especially the TCP/IP stack and HTTP protocol
• ▹Strong understanding of caching, including CDN, HTTP cache, Redis/Memcached
• ▹Excellent troubleshooting skills, including Linux OS diagnosis and parameter optimisation
