Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Connectors (Java)

Responsibilities

• ▹Design and implement cloud connectors integrating Cloudera's platform with AWS, Azure, GCP, and other cloud services
• ▹Develop robust, well-tested code for data ingestion, movement, and synchronization across cloud platforms
• ▹Lead technical design discussions and contribute architectural decisions for connector frameworks and infrastructure
• ▹Collaborate with product, architecture, and infrastructure teams to define requirements
• ▹Mentor junior engineers on best practices and design patterns
• ▹Participate in code reviews, establish coding standards, drive continuous improvement
• ▹Troubleshoot complex issues in production environments and implement scalable solutions
• ▹Document technical designs, APIs, and implementation details
• ▹Stay current with cloud platform updates and emerging technologies

Requirements

• ▹BSc/MSc in a related field or equivalent experience
• ▹5+ years of software engineering experience focused on cloud platforms or distributed systems
• ▹Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or Go
• ▹Demonstrated experience developing cloud connectors, integrations, or middleware solutions
• ▹Reasonable understanding of AWS, Azure, or GCP and their services (storage, compute, networking)
• ▹Experience with data processing frameworks and large-scale data movement
• ▹Solid understanding of API design, REST, gRPC, and message protocols
• ▹Proven ability to design and implement scalable, maintainable software solutions
• ▹Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• ▹Strong written and verbal communication skills
• ▹Experience working in agile environments

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with Apache Hadoop, Spark, or other big data technologies
• ▹Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, or container orchestration
• ▹Background in cloud-native application development
• ▹Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation
• ▹Contributions to open-source projects
• ▹Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance in cloud environments
• ▹Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools
