Product Manager - Security

Canonical's general track for product management, where interviews identify the software product that fits the candidate (Ubuntu, Ubuntu Pro, AI/ML, IoT, cloud, telco, finance, automotive, application management). Roles are home-based in the EMEA time zone and candidates must be located in this region.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Lead the product development lifecycle, reviewing the priorities and goals for your product
  • ▹Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing and sales teams
  • ▹Address common challenges across projects, align on priorities and enable informed decisions
  • ▹Conduct market research, analyse industry trends and gather customer feedback
  • ▹Communicate product vision, status updates and key decisions
  • ▹Conduct usability testing, analyse user feedback and iterate on the product
  • ▹Develop go-to-market strategies, product documentation and training with marketing, sales and support
  • ▹Participate in customer meetings and contribute to winning new opportunities
  • ▹Oversee the work of a product line, ensuring consistency in strategy and execution
  • ▹Facilitate collaboration and resolve conflicts across teams and departments

Requirements

  • ▹Exceptional academic results at high school and university
  • ▹Understanding of Linux and the wider open source software community
  • ▹Understanding of computer architecture, application development, datacenters, cloud or devices
  • ▹Passion to write about technologies and the tech landscape
  • ▹Strong work ethic and personal interests aligned with the open source movement
  • ▹Curiosity and the habit of continuous learning
  • ▹A strong sense of ownership
  • ▹Problem solving and the ability to innovate
  • ▹Outstanding communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • ▹Ability to manage multiple projects or product lines
  • ▹Demonstrated leadership in aligning diverse teams
  • ▹Willingness to travel internationally up to 4 times a year for events of up to two weeks
  • ▹Product management experience in the software industry for more senior positions

Nice to have

  • ▹Familiarity with a particular vertical (e.g. telco, finance, industrial, automotive)
  • ▹Familiarity with the technology ecosystem including silicon, IHV, ISV, ODM/OEMs, cloud service providers and channel
  • ▹Familiarity with cloud native technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker containers and Snaps
  • ▹Familiarity with embedded and connected device technology
  • ▹Familiarity with networking technologies (ethernet, IPv4 and IPv6, routing, firewalling, OVN/OVS, VPNs, SR-IOV, infiniband)
  • ▹Familiarity with telco networking (RAN, Core, CPE)
  • ▹Experience leading distributed teams across time zones
  • ▹Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration and innovation
