Senior Research Scientist (AI)

Responsibilities

• ▹Identify long-term research goals and intermediate milestones for AI models and applications
• ▹Conduct state-of-the-art research in AI domains such as predictive health outcomes, large language models (LLMs) and Generative AI
• ▹Contribute to AI model training experiments: experimental design, writing reusable code, running evaluations and preparing results for wider circulation
• ▹Publish research in top-tier conferences and journals in the diabetes, health sensing and technology communities
• ▹Implement new models, tools and processes for Dexcom's core data products team
• ▹Collaborate with R&D, Commercial, Product, Legal and Regulatory stakeholders
• ▹Evaluate and improve the safety of models and systems, identifying risks and proposing mitigations

Requirements

• ▹Track record of brainstorming and improving ideas in machine learning and AI, including designing and executing experiments, shown through first-author publications or projects
• ▹Independent, results-driven researcher able to carry out long-running projects autonomously
• ▹Experience creating high-performance implementations of deep learning algorithms, e.g. in PyTorch or TensorFlow
• ▹Excellent written and verbal communication and data visualization skills
• ▹Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with 5-8 years of related experience, or master's degree with 2-5 years of industry experience, or PhD with 0-2 years of experience
