Senior RF Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Design and develop UAS-to-ground and UAS-to-UAS datalink architectures, including point-to-point and mesh network topologies
• ▹Develop robust, encrypted communication links for UAS in non-cooperative, contested, and denied environments
• ▹Integrate tactical C2 networks with UAS platforms, including systems such as IBCS and Tactical Scalable Mesh
• ▹Stay on top of the market and battlefield situations to identify existing or missing RF solutions
• ▹Test, validate, and integrate radio systems into new and existing products
• ▹Obtain US FCC spectrum approvals and manage frequency coordination for US regulatory environments
• ▹Collaborate with governmental bodies to get permissions for licensed bands and power outputs
• ▹Design and implement Software Defined Radio (SDR) solutions with RF frontends and modem implementations
• ▹Conduct RF link budget analysis and performance modeling for datalink reliability
• ▹Work with external partners to access specialized equipment and build internal lab capabilities

Requirements

• ▹Experience designing UAS communication systems or RF datalinks
• ▹Experience developing encrypted, robust communication protocols
• ▹Knowledge of tactical C2 networks and military communication standards
• ▹Software Defined Radio (SDR) design experience
• ▹Proficiency in RF link budget analysis and performance modeling
• ▹Knowledge of spectrum regulation and frequency coordination (US FCC)
