Senior Software Engineer (Financial Statement Suite)

Responsibilities

• ▹Design and build production APIs and services, primarily in Python and C#, that power financial statement review workflows
• ▹Develop AI-powered agents and workflows, integrating LLMs and document-understanding pipelines
• ▹Contribute to the React web front end, where auditors review, correct and approve results
• ▹Keep results trustworthy by pairing LLMs with deterministic checks
• ▹Integrate with Azure and its AI services
• ▹Implement security controls aligned with OWASP and OWASP GenAI security guidance
• ▹Architect services and systems using well-established design principles, anticipating future use cases
• ▹Write robust, production-ready code; unit, integration and end-to-end tests are part of the deliverable
• ▹Raise the engineering bar through code reviews, technical mentorship and best practices
• ▹Diagnose complex issues across services and use operational data to drive stability improvements
• ▹Participate in the on-call rotation
• ▹Break down epics, align dependencies and help the team navigate ambiguity
• ▹Partner with product managers and designers to shape solutions and refine the roadmap
• ▹Foster a culture of documentation and knowledge sharing
• ▹Use AI-assisted engineering effectively and responsibly, critically evaluating AI output
• ▹Mentor engineers and contribute to hiring and onboarding

Requirements

• ▹7+ years of experience building applications with a modern backend stack
• ▹Experience with an object-oriented language (Python preferred)
• ▹Hands-on experience with TypeScript and a modern front-end framework such as React
• ▹Strong experience building, deploying and maintaining APIs on a major cloud platform (they use Azure)
• ▹Strong fundamentals of software architecture and system design
• ▹Experience with relational and document-based databases
• ▹A quality-first mindset; testing (unit, integration, E2E) is second nature
• ▹Proficiency with AI-assisted engineering tools (they use Claude Code)
• ▹Experience with Docker and containerized deployments
• ▹Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English, written and verbal
• ▹Entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work effectively in an ever-changing scale-up environment

Nice to have

• ▹Experience building or integrating AI agentic applications in production (LLM orchestration, RAG, evals, prompt engineering)
• ▹Experience with document processing (OCR, PDF extraction, layout parsing)
• ▹Domain experience in audit, accounting or fintech
• ▹Exposure to event-driven architecture and Domain-Driven Design
• ▹Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives
