Responsibilities

• ▹Meet frequently with the team and mentor to get up to speed, then implement and ship your first project.
• ▹Familiarize yourself with dashboards, logging, debugging tools, cloud providers, and infrastructure management.
• ▹Scope and work on projects self-sufficiently within 3 months, joining the on-call rotation.
• ▹Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving reliability and quality of the codebase.
• ▹Review code, create proposals, and contribute to architectural discussions within 6 months.
• ▹Mentor other engineers and influence the org to improve reliability, scalability, and performance within 12 months.

Requirements

• ▹5+ years of experience as a software engineer designing and maintaining complex, large, growing systems.
• ▹Comfort writing and debugging SQL.
• ▹Excellent command of at least one mainstream programming language.
• ▹Experience shipping high-quality code using good testing practices in iterative cycles.
• ▹Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively in a fully-remote culture.
• ▹Proactive: jumps on broken things to fix or suggest improvements.

Nice to have

• ▹Experience in Python.
• ▹Experience in PostgreSQL.
• ▹Experience building SDKs.
• ▹Experience shipping a mobile app with in-app purchases.
• ▹Some experience with React and SPA applications.
