Senior Software Engineer (iOS), SDK

Senior iOS SDK Engineer role on Sentry's Mobile SDK team, which builds developer tools processing over a billion events every day. Sentry is an application monitoring company trusted by 200,000+ organizations. As owner of the iOS SDK, you guide its development from core architecture to final product experience, pioneering features like Session Replay and next-generation performance monitoring while leveraging Apple's latest technology (SwiftUI, modern concurrency, Foundation Models, on-device AI). You design robust, high-quality APIs built to handle massive scale and shape the overall vision for mobile at Sentry. Based in or willing to relocate to the Toronto area.

Responsibilities

  • Own the iOS SDK and guide its development from core architecture to final product experience
  • Pioneer new features like Session Replay and next-generation performance monitoring
  • Master and apply Apple's latest innovations such as modern concurrency and on-device AI
  • Design robust, high-quality APIs built to handle massive scale
  • Shape the overall vision for mobile at Sentry
  • Act as the go-to expert, helping teams solve the most complex customer challenges

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer with a strong focus on mobile platforms, ideally in SDK development and/or developer tooling
  • Deep experience developing for the iOS platform using Swift and Objective-C
  • Strong understanding of mobile architecture, patterns, and best practices
  • Experience leveraging AI-powered development tools to enhance productivity and code quality
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
  • Well-organized with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Living in the Toronto area or willing to relocate

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of the app monitoring and observability space
  • Familiarity with low-level programming (C/C++)
  • A track record of maintaining or contributing to open-source libraries
  • Experience with other mobile platforms or frameworks (Android + Kotlin/Java, React Native + JavaScript/TypeScript, Flutter + Dart)

What we offer

  • Base salary range CAD $185,000 to $231,000
