Test Engineer – Volvo Cars

Responsibilities

• ▹Plan, coordinate and carry out test activities
• ▹Develop test cases and test scripts for both manual and automated testing
• ▹Perform component, domain and full-vehicle verification in rig, boxcar, HIL environment and vehicle
• ▹Work on test methods and test case development in tools such as Carweaver and vTestStudio
• ▹Troubleshoot, analyze logs and take measurements on components, actuators and signals
• ▹Create fault reports and participate in analysis and problem-solving with system and function owners
• ▹Review and communicate test results and reports from suppliers
• ▹Ensure administrative documentation is accurate and up to date

Requirements

• ▹Experience in testing and verification within software, electronics and/or hardware
• ▹Experience in test case design, test planning and test execution
• ▹Experience in troubleshooting, log analysis and technical problem-solving
• ▹Experience automating test scripts
• ▹Good understanding of testing in complex technical systems
• ▹Structured approach to documentation, fault reporting and follow-up
• ▹Good communication skills and experience collaborating with both internal teams and external suppliers

Nice to have

• ▹Experience from the automotive industry
• ▹HIL, rig testing, boxcar or vehicle testing
• ▹Carweaver and/or vTestStudio
• ▹Testing of embedded systems
• ▹Electronics, signal measurement and component-level troubleshooting
• ▹Test automation in automotive-adjacent environments
