Senior Backend Engineer (Python)

Responsibilities

• ▹Own high quality solutions from design to production, including testing, monitoring, and documentation
• ▹Proactively tackle ambiguous problems, reducing complexity into clear, actionable solutions with stakeholder alignment
• ▹Ensure all solutions meet the latest security, privacy, and regulatory standards
• ▹Drive architectural improvements to scale the platform and evolve infrastructure
• ▹Collaborate effectively in a globally distributed, diverse, cross-functional team

Requirements

• ▹Minimum 5+ years of practical backend development experience with Python
• ▹Experience architecting, building and deploying scalable, performant, highly available web services on AWS or similar
• ▹Writes highly maintainable, extensible, well-tested, easy-to-understand code
• ▹Affinity for automating busywork and fixing problems at the root
• ▹Pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset balancing short-term goals and long-term tech debt
• ▹Solid computer science fundamentals and design patterns

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with Python web frameworks such as FastAPI
• ▹Experience working within a regulated environment
• ▹PCI DSS compliance, data labeling/curation for multimodal datasets, dataset generation for model training, E2E ML pipelines
• ▹Experience supporting internal and external security/regulatory audits
• ▹Experience building efficient, scalable database schemas and query optimization
• ▹Experience working asynchronously across time zones
