Staff Software Engineer, Platform Infrastructure

Responsibilities

• ▹Own and develop the platform infrastructure strategy
• ▹Be directly involved in deciding what to work on and how
• ▹Make principled build vs. buy assessments and advocate for the right tools
• ▹Create and maintain comprehensive internal documentation and decision records
• ▹Participate in architectural forums and make principled decisions

Requirements

• ▹Distributed systems depth: consistency and availability tradeoffs, failure cascades, backpressure, graceful degradation
• ▹Kubernetes at operator depth, having operated clusters under real load
• ▹Strong Go proficiency, having built and shipped production systems
• ▹Multi-cloud experience across AWS, GCP, and/or Azure with real architectural decisions
• ▹Experience defining requirements and driving technology choices across an engineering organization
• ▹Strong written and verbal communication, experience in globally-distributed teams

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with storage primitives at the system level
• ▹Experience working on a SaaS/PaaS product across multiple cloud providers
• ▹Familiarity with Apache Airflow or workflow orchestration systems
