Staff Software Engineer – Hypervisor

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Design, develop, and integrate SoC firmware features, diagnostics, and test capabilities for QCT boot platforms
• ▹Coordinate and collaborate across software, hardware, ASIC, integration, architecture, and emulation teams
• ▹Verify and debug firmware and driver issues together with emulation and hardware design teams
• ▹Write efficient, security-conscious code and drive code reviews of firmware logic updates
• ▹Deliver defined tasks and milestones on time, closing dependencies with other teams
• ▹Triage software issues and drive defect investigation and resolution
• ▹Produce technical documentation, including APIs, manuals, and user guides

Requirements

• ▹Strong understanding of and experience with C
• ▹Understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, and kernels; experience with Linux, kernel, bootloader, or OS development
• ▹Knowledge of ARM CPU architecture, IOMMU, and ARM SMMU
• ▹Knowledge of hypervisors and virtualization
• ▹Experience with multi-processing/multi-threading, concurrency, and synchronization
• ▹Experience writing device drivers and interfacing with hardware
• ▹Experience with secure coding
• ▹Familiarity with debugging tools such as GDB and Lauterbach Trace32, and understanding of assembly
• ▹Python and shell scripting in a Linux development environment
• ▹Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 4+ years of software engineering experience (or Master's +3 years, or PhD +2 years)
• ▹2+ years of experience with a programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Python

Nice to have

• ▹Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• ▹4+ years of software engineering experience
• ▹1+ year of experience with Git, Perforce, or another source control system
• ▹Real-time OS experience
• ▹Familiarity with toolchains and systems libraries (e.g., libc)
• ▹Test development and test automation experience
• ▹Contributions to open-source projects
• ▹Independent software design and strong analytical/problem-solving skills
• ▹Automotive and functional safety experience
