Java Software Engineer (1-Year Fixed-Term Contract)

Responsibilities

• ▹Translate requirements into code using existing and new frameworks
• ▹Derive technical implementation proposals from an understanding of clients' individual software architectures
• ▹Break down implementation projects into work packages for development teams
• ▹Align implementations with client architects
• ▹Document implementations in code comments, proposals and specifications, in German and English depending on the project environment

Requirements

• ▹Several years of experience as a Java developer, including in agile project environments
• ▹Solid knowledge of Java, JUnit, Git, relational databases (PostgreSQL, MariaDB, Oracle DB) and web technologies
• ▹Implementation experience with architectures and frameworks such as JEE, Hibernate, JSF, Primefaces, React, Angular, JavaFX
• ▹Early-career or multi-year experience in software architecture
• ▹High degree of organizational skill and a structured, self-directed way of working
• ▹Very good analytical and conceptual skills
• ▹Good communication skills
• ▹Fluent German and English

Nice to have

• ▹Knowledge of cryptographic methods and implementation of user authentication and authorization, MFA, eID (e.g. Keycloak, EIDAS, LDAP)
• ▹DevOps experience, tools such as Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, SonarQube
• ▹API knowledge, including automated tests possibly using self-built mockups/simulators
• ▹Experience in data migration projects
• ▹Knowledge of additional programming languages
• ▹Creating automated test cases with tools such as Selenium, Jira XRay
• ▹Experience with Infrastructure as Code and hyperscaler cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google)
• ▹Experience working with public-sector authorities
• ▹Relevant Java certifications (OCPJ), ISAQB, TOGAF, V-Modell XT, Scrum Master or hyperscaler cloud provider certifications
