Staff Product Manager, Compute Infrastructure and Hardware

Responsibilities

• ▹Develop and champion the long-term vision and strategy for DigitalOcean's compute platform
• ▹Define the roadmap for new compute offerings, features, and enhancements
• ▹Track processor technologies from Intel, AMD, ARM and analyze performance benchmarks and cost-efficiency
• ▹Drive initiatives to optimize the efficiency and utilization of compute infrastructure
• ▹Evaluate virtualization and containerization technologies
• ▹Champion performance, reliability, and scalability efforts with engineering teams
• ▹Optimize the cost-efficiency of compute infrastructure, analyze pricing models, negotiate with vendors
• ▹Continuously monitor the competitive landscape for compute offerings
• ▹Engage with customers to understand compute needs and incorporate feedback into the roadmap
• ▹Collaborate with engineering, finance, marketing, and sales teams

Requirements

• ▹8+ years of Product Management experience with a proven track record in compute infrastructure products, ideally in cloud computing
• ▹Strong understanding of CPU architectures (Intel, AMD, ARM), microarchitectures, instruction sets, and performance characteristics
• ▹Familiarity with datacenter design principles: rack layouts, power distribution, cooling, networking
• ▹Understanding of server component costs (CPUs, memory, storage, networking)
• ▹Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to drive product strategy
• ▹Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills
