Senior Data Analyst - Regulatory Reporting

Wise's London-based Regulatory Reporting Analytics team is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to own the end-to-end lifecycle of regulatory reporting datasets - from interpreting regulations and mapping them to internal data, through automating pipelines, to delivering insights to stakeholders. The role sits at the intersection of finance, compliance, and data engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain accurate, efficient reporting datasets to meet regulatory requirements across multiple legal entities
  • Automate reporting workflows to minimise manual intervention and enable self-service for end users
  • Design and build intuitive data visualisations presenting periodic summaries, control results, trends, and variances
  • Develop robust data quality controls and integrate them into automated reporting workflows, alongside monitoring and alerting
  • Liaise with regulatory, prudential, and financial controllers, as well as regional product, compliance, and banking teams to map regulations to internal data
  • Collaborate with analytics engineering and analysts across functions to keep pace with evolving data infrastructure
  • Investigate and drive resolution of complex data discrepancies, stakeholder queries, and internal control findings
  • Champion and uphold reporting standards and best practices across the team
  • Leverage Wise's tech stack, including modern AI and agentic tools, to improve reporting workflows and team efficiency

Requirements

  • Advanced SQL: ability to independently build efficient, readable queries spanning data extraction, transformation, and DDL/DML operations
  • Hands-on DBT experience, including materialisation strategy trade-offs and data quality testing
  • Experience working with a modern data warehouse such as Snowflake
  • Comfortable working with high-volume data
  • Python proficiency strongly preferred
  • Skilled with an orchestration tool such as Airflow
  • Proficient with version control, ideally Git and GitHub
  • Competent with a data visualisation tool such as Looker, Lightdash, or Superset
  • Demonstrable understanding of fundamental accounting principles and financial statements
  • Proficient in Excel and similar spreadsheet tools
  • Understanding of cloud services, preferably AWS
  • Demonstrated use of AI and agentic tools in a professional setting
  • Right to work in the UK required (no visa sponsorship provided for this role)
