Staff Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Design, develop, test, and deploy features and services for Consumer & Business Onboarding and Money Movement in existing and new Latin American markets
• ▹Implement integrations with local banks, payment providers, identity/business verification vendors, and financial partners
• ▹Connect the Wise platform to various local payment schemes and networks across Latin America
• ▹Automate and improve onboarding workflows and KYC/KYB compliance checks for different customer types
• ▹Propose and advocate for scalable, reliable technical designs that comply with diverse regional regulations
• ▹Participate in code and design reviews within the team
• ▹Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers in other global offices on regional expansion and global KYC/KYB and money movement systems
• ▹Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to onboarding, money movement, cross-border payments, and local integrations
• ▹Mentor less experienced engineers and contribute to the technical growth of the São Paulo engineering hub

Requirements

• ▹High level of technical and product excellence
• ▹Experience designing scalable, reliable, and compliant technical solutions
• ▹Ability to propose and advocate for solid technical designs
• ▹Experience mentoring and coaching less experienced team members
• ▹Willingness to help found a new engineering organisation and shape local culture and processes
