Responsibilities

• ▹Design, plan, and build IT infrastructure for production systems, and contribute to IT infrastructure investment planning
• ▹Support external vendors and assist with installing, commissioning, and troubleshooting new systems
• ▹Document IT systems and maintain accurate records of systems and their configurations
• ▹Adapt and further develop IT infrastructure, in particular server systems, network environments, and IT security systems
• ▹Operate IT infrastructure for installed production systems, including IT security systems: create, modify, and delete firewall rules; manage Active Directory users, groups, and computers; deploy updates (Windows Server, Linux, and hypervisor); update firmware drivers on hardware components; manage IT incidents and coordinate with the Bayer Service Desk and external vendors
• ▹Own configuration management as well as high-availability responsibility for integrated production systems
• ▹Own service level management, and plan, monitor, and escalate local application support
• ▹Manage vendors and prepare decision documents for selecting, developing, and evaluating suitable service providers
• ▹Handle lifecycle and change management, maintain IT infrastructure components (servers, LAN/SAN switches, printers, WLAN access points, etc.), and manage commissioning and decommissioning of IT infrastructure

Requirements

• ▹Bachelor's or master's degree, ideally in information technology, computer science, business informatics, or engineering
• ▹Several years of experience in the described areas, in particular specialist knowledge of IT infrastructure and server system operations, database administration, and IT security
• ▹Ability to work independently and develop solutions autonomously
• ▹High service orientation and strong communication skills
• ▹Analytical, structured way of working
• ▹Enjoys teamwork

Nice to have

• ▹Good knowledge of SAN administration and cloud technologies
