Datacenter Software Program Manager (Up to Staff Level)

Responsibilities

• ▹Establish the Plan of Record: roadmap/requirements baseline, priorities, change control, synchronization across development teams
• ▹Drive planning and scheduling: develop the execution schedule including staffing needs and interdependencies
• ▹Coordinate department schedules and resources; develop the program master schedule, work plans, checklists and design reviews
• ▹Establish a routine status-update and communication process, including risk management and mitigation actions
• ▹Develop program indicators and present at monthly program reviews
• ▹Partner with other functional areas to establish disciplined product-development and decision-making processes
• ▹Coordinate across multiple development sites, including Qualcomm sites and domestic/international contractors
• ▹Organize and lead interdepartmental meetings, setting milestones and defining tasks
• ▹Establish program policies and processes, and allocate resources
• ▹Develop control systems to monitor program progress and maintain the risk matrix
• ▹Troubleshoot program issues and develop alternative tasks, schedules and processes
• ▹Communicate program status and risks to executive teams
• ▹Work with the software product management team to define an end-to-end software and maintenance strategy
• ▹Drive an ecosystem of third-party software developers, identifying opportunities for software reuse

Requirements

• ▹Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field + 4+ years of program management or related experience
• ▹Required to work onsite in San Diego, 5 days a week
• ▹Not eligible for Qualcomm immigration sponsorship
• ▹Understanding of software stacks and Linux-based distributions

Nice to have

• ▹Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
• ▹7+ years of program management experience in semiconductor, telecommunications or developer ecosystem industries
• ▹3+ years of engineering/program management experience on x86, ARM or RISC-V platforms
• ▹3+ years of experience working with senior leadership (VP level and above)
• ▹2+ years of experience in a medium-to-large matrixed organization
• ▹2+ years of experience with program management tools (dashboards, Gantt charts)
• ▹2+ years of engineering experience on AI products
• ▹Experience with operating budgets, resources and project financials
