Senior Application Support Engineer (AWS/Linux)

Responsibilities

• ▹Day-to-day operation and oversight of business-critical applications
• ▹Handling and investigating incidents and support tickets
• ▹Monitoring systems, analyzing and handling alerts
• ▹Supporting application deployments, version upgrades and go-lives
• ▹Maintaining operational documentation
• ▹Liaising with development, infrastructure and business areas
• ▹Participating in problem management and root cause analysis processes
• ▹Ensuring the operation of highly available systems
• ▹Supporting development projects and system rollouts
• ▹Supporting key and certificate management processes
• ▹Supporting audits and Disaster Recovery (DRP) processes
• ▹Occasionally supporting off-hours change management and maintenance

Requirements

• ▹Minimum 5 years of application support experience
• ▹Hands-on operational experience in an AWS environment
• ▹Confident SQL knowledge
• ▹Knowledge of Oracle databases
• ▹Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix systems
• ▹Experience operating application servers
• ▹Experience with log analysis and troubleshooting
• ▹Confident written and spoken English

Nice to have

• ▹Knowledge of OpenShift
• ▹DevOps mindset
• ▹Scripting experience (Bash, Python, PowerShell, Perl or RPG)
• ▹Knowledge of encryption and key management technologies
• ▹Experience in the banking or financial sector
• ▹Experience operating highly available systems
• ▹Experience collaborating with third-party providers
