QA Engineer

QA / Test Engineer • Remote • Vollzeit • 📍 Arlington

An experienced, detail-oriented QA Engineer is sought to ensure the quality, reliability, and usability of software delivered to clients, spanning web apps, APIs, databases, and Microsoft Power Platform solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts
  • Review business requirements and specifications to identify quality risks early
  • Design and execute functional, system, integration, API, end-to-end, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing
  • Test Microsoft Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse)
  • Build and maintain automated regression tests (Playwright, Selenium, EasyRepro)
  • Validate business rules, permissions, authentication, APIs, integrations, and data integrity
  • Create and maintain test data, environments, and reusable test assets
  • Document, prioritize, and manage defects through to closure
  • Support performance, accessibility, browser-compatibility, and security testing
  • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and developers
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (estimation, backlog refinement, sprint reviews)
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Track quality metrics and recommend process improvements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 5-8 years of professional software QA and testing experience
  • Strong manual testing, test design, and defect management experience
  • Experience testing web applications, APIs, integrations, and data-driven business applications
  • Hands-on experience testing Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Dataverse); Power Automate a plus
  • Experience developing and maintaining automated tests (Playwright, Selenium, EasyRepro)
  • Proficiency in SQL and data validation, REST API testing (Postman)
  • Experience with Azure DevOps Test Plans or Jira
  • Working knowledge of Git, CI/CD, and release validation
  • Understanding of application security, authentication, and authorization (Microsoft Entra ID)
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills

Nice to have

  • Performance and accessibility (WCAG) testing experience
  • Use of AI-assisted tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) to generate test ideas
  • Experience supporting federal government or regulated delivery environments
  • Knowledge of Power Platform administration, solution deployment, PowerShell
