This role is for a Data Engineer working in an Azure data warehouse environment, responsible for database design and architecture, data modeling, and metadata repositories, as well as secure data migrations and transformations, and migrating ETL/SSIS packages to Synapse.
Responsibilities
- ▹Design databases and architecture in an Azure data warehouse environment, including data modeling and metadata repository creation
- ▹Work with architects, technical leads, and business teams on technical designs
- ▹Perform secure data migrations and transformations to/from clients, customers, and vendors
- ▹Provide technical database consultation for application development, global infrastructure, and DBA efforts
- ▹Conduct data profiling, cataloging, and mapping for technical data flow design
- ▹Migrate current ETL and SSIS packages to Synapse
Requirements
- ▹2-3+ years of experience with large-scale data migration and transformation
- ▹Strong hands-on experience with Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Data Lake Storage
- ▹Experience writing complex SQL queries and building data models
- ▹Experience or exposure to T-SQL, SQL Server, PL/SQL
- ▹Experience or exposure to Informatica PowerCenter, Star Schema, Snowflake Schema
- ▹Database performance tuning
- ▹Data warehouse and data mart experience
- ▹Strong knowledge of data structures and extracting data from sources such as Cognos, Informatica, Hyperion
