Data Team Supervisor

Data Engineer • Remote • Vollzeit • 📍 Dallas

The Data Team Supervisor manages the daily activities of the data analysis team responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting data warehouse systems. The role ensures efficient data reporting, data modeling, and data projects while maintaining data quality. Remote-first after onboarding, with two weeks of required in-person training at the Carrollton, TX office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight in the full lifecycle of data warehouse projects, from planning and design to implementation and support
  • Supervise a team of Data Warehouse Analysts and Database Administrators, balancing workloads and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Establish and maintain auditing processes to ensure data accuracy and quality
  • Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Develop, create, and modify query-based dashboards, reports, KPIs, and advanced analytics
  • Stay current with advancements in data warehousing and BI technologies
  • Be available for on-call support for data reporting and database-related issues
  • Provide technical advice, assistance, and training to users
  • Document and maintain standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation
  • Ensure best practices for data management, storage, and retrieval are followed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (equivalent experience considered)
  • 7+ years of experience in a data-focused technology role, with heavy exposure to SQL Server and Power BI (or similar tools)
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role required
  • Extensive knowledge of data warehousing and BI technologies
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain complex dashboards, reports, and alerts, and to create requirement specifications, technical designs, and user training documents
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to collaborate effectively across departments
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, managing and mentoring teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
