The Betsson Sportsbook Technology organization is looking for a Performance Architect to take end-to-end ownership of performance as a first-class architectural concern across the platform. The role has a strong focus on frontend performance, while also requiring a solid understanding of infrastructure, networking and distributed systems to collaborate closely with other Architects, DevOps and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Performance Architecture & Strategy: define and own the performance architecture for Sportsbook applications, primarily focused on frontend performance and customer-perceived latency
  • ▹Establish and maintain performance-related non-functional requirements (NFRs) across web, mobile and platform layers
  • ▹Work with Product, Engineering and Architecture to align performance goals with business objectives and customer experience
  • ▹Frontend Performance Excellence: drive best practices including rendering and hydration strategies, asset loading, caching and CDN usage, and web performance metrics (Core Web Vitals, TTFB, LCP, CLS, INP)
  • ▹Collaborate closely with frontend teams to review designs, implementations and technical decisions from a performance perspective
  • ▹Partner with Solution Architects, Platform Architects and DevOps to identify performance bottlenecks across infrastructure, networking, cloud and Kubernetes environments, and APIs and backend dependencies
  • ▹Analysis, Measurement & Improvement: define and promote performance measurement standards, tooling and dashboards
  • ▹Lead performance analysis, load testing and capacity planning together with relevant teams
  • ▹Participate in incident reviews and root cause analysis, feeding performance learnings back into architecture and design
  • ▹Communication & Enablement: act as a performance ambassador across the organization, communicate complex performance topics clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and mentor teams
