AI Engineering Lead

Shift | AI Engineering Lead | UK | Remote (UK Based only) | Full-time Shift helps enterprises move faster through complex transformation programmes. We're an early-stage UK startup building the AI systems that power how we deliver that work. We're hiring an AI Engineering Lead to own the intelligence layer end to end. You'd own the agent systems, work close to the infrastructure, and set the engineering bar for how the product is built. You'd partner directly with the Product Owner: they own the what and the why, you own the how. It's a high-autonomy role at an early stage. No layers, no politics. Looking for: strong Python, real production experience with LLM APIs (well beyond demos), and a bias for shipping. Container and multi-tenant SaaS experience is a plus. Apply: humans@shiftco.ai
