Senior Developer Advocate, Developer Education

Responsibilities

• ▹Help shape the education platform and the direction of the learning experience, not just the content that fills it
• ▹Design and build exercise-first courses, tutorials and labs, with video, guides and learning paths built around them
• ▹Produce video education content, including long-form walkthroughs and short-form "aha moment" clips
• ▹Build hands-on AI and agent content, including durable AI agent examples
• ▹Design learning experiences that reflect modern developer workflows, including AI-assisted, hybrid and interactive formats
• ▹Keep educational materials aligned with current product capabilities and recommended architectural patterns
• ▹Build and maintain reference implementations, labs and best-practices examples in one or more Temporal SDK languages
• ▹Occasionally represent education in person: staffing a booth, teaching a workshop, training session or talk
• ▹Partner with enterprise-facing teams to turn their needs into reusable educational assets
• ▹Help run trainer and developer certification programs
• ▹Collect and share developer feedback with Product and Engineering

Requirements

• ▹Strong software engineering background, able to build production-quality examples in Go, Java, TypeScript, Python or .NET
• ▹Solid understanding of distributed systems fundamentals: state management, fault tolerance, concurrency, event-driven architectures
• ▹Demonstrated experience creating high-quality technical education content
• ▹Clear, pragmatic written and verbal communication with a storyteller's instinct
• ▹Ability to operate as a senior individual contributor with minimal direction
• ▹A product and ownership instinct covering the whole learner experience
• ▹Comfort balancing execution with program-level, cross-functional thinking
• ▹Willingness to travel occasionally for conferences and events

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with Temporal or another workflow orchestration system
• ▹Background in developer education, developer relations or technical enablement
• ▹Open source contributions, especially in developer tooling or distributed systems
• ▹Experience building LLM-powered applications or AI agents
• ▹Experience with a learning management system (LMS) or building an education platform
• ▹Experience working in a remote-first, globally distributed company
