Engineering Manager, Tax Platform

What you’ll do Responsibilities Work with a team of talented engineers and product managers to drive growth, solve user problems, and deliver operational excellence.  Collaborate with stakeholders across disciplines, time zones, and across the company to achieve the best outcomes for our users.  Build the plans, rhythm, and support for your team to deliver its best work.  Contribute to the broader Tax Engineering organization through technical leadership, process and tooling improvements.  Lead, coach, retain, and recruit engineers on the team.  Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of Stripe’s engineering management team. Who you are Minimum requirements Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, plus ten (10) years of experience in Software Engineering, of which, at least 5 years must be post bachelor's progressive experience. Must have five (5) years of experience with/in: Managing, building and leading engineering teams delivering software products; Applying hands-on technical expertise at scale to guide architecture and technical strategy resolutions in collaboration with staff engineers; Designing, delivering, and operating business critical services at scale; User-facing product, front-end and back-end services, scaling database systems, and API design on a team of 4- 8 engineers; Designing and building services in monolithic and multi service architectures; and Devops and operational ownership, from standing up observability posture through managing and iterating on operational rigor and on call health. Salary: $274,456 - $321,800/yr. This salary range represents the base salary range for the role and any sales commissions/sales bonuses targets, if applicable, would be in addition to the base salary. 40 hrs/week 100% Telecommuting permitted.
