DevRel Engineer, Agentic Infrastructure

Backend Developer • Vor Ort • Vollzeit • 📍 Hybrid - San Francisco

Vercel is looking for a DevRel Engineer to work inside the teams building its agentic infrastructure (AI Gateway, Sandbox), building with the tools first and teaching developers how to use them.

Responsibilities

  • Build agents and applications on AI Gateway and Sandbox before they ship
  • Turn what you learn into demos, templates, and open source projects developers can clone and run
  • Teach developers how to build with agentic infrastructure through writing, talks, videos, and live coding
  • Sit in product/engineering planning meetings and help fix rough edges before launch
  • Own key launch deliverables: example repos, launch demos, docs contributions, and early developer Q&A
  • Track how developers across the ecosystem build agents, where they get stuck, and what's missing

Requirements

  • 5+ years in engineering, DevRel, or DX roles with shippable software to show for it
  • Experience building and shipping AI applications or agents (tool calling, model routing, sandboxed code execution)
  • Strong TypeScript skills and comfort in the Next.js and AI SDK ecosystem
  • A public body of work: talks, posts, open source, or videos
  • Ability to turn a half-finished API into a working demo and clear explanation within the same day or week
  • Demonstrated experience changing a product roadmap through developer feedback
  • Application must include a link to something that taught developers something (talk, repo, post, or video)

Nice to have

  • Maintaining or contributing to an open source project other developers depend on
  • Experience spinning up a microVM and opinions on why isolation matters for agents
  • Having shipped something real on Vercel using the AI SDK
