Developer Productivity Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Be the single owner of build/test/deploy and how each team fits into it
• ▹Untangle the monorepo's build/test/deploy patterns so teams do not block each other; investigate a tool like Turborepo
• ▹Drive excellence in testing: top-down and team-level views of test coverage, helping teams see their gaps
• ▹Support the multi-region, multi-cloud backend and launch new regions for data residency requirements
• ▹Improve the ability to catch issues before production and respond quickly
• ▹Spend significant onboarding time delivering features to understand the dev flow, and later dive into complicated backend code as needed

Requirements

• ▹Strong computer science and development fundamentals
• ▹Driven significant productivity improvement for a 50+ person development team through build/test/deploy changes
• ▹Experience on a developer-productivity team, or as the build person at a fast-growing startup, or delivering code that improved cross-team metrics (e.g., DORA, coverage)
• ▹Comfortable driving framework-level improvements across multiple teams
• ▹Comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment
• ▹JavaScript/TypeScript, Go and Python
