Software Engineer - Data Movement Platform

Responsibilities

• ▹Refine and maintain data infrastructure technologies supporting batch and streaming ML and analytics workflows across hundreds of millions of users
• ▹Own the Data Movement Platform enabling batch and stream data processing at Reddit
• ▹Invest in building new infrastructure for Spark, Flink, and Airflow, including contributing to the open-source community
• ▹Build automated solutions minimizing toilsome work for data users and providing a declarative, self-service experience
• ▹Collaborate with teammates on shared on-call responsibilities and monitoring/alerting to improve reliability, scalability, latency, and efficiency

Requirements

• ▹2+ years of software engineering experience in production, writing clean, maintainable, well-tested code
• ▹Proficient in object-oriented languages like Python, Scala, Go, or Java
• ▹Demonstrated expertise designing and implementing large-scale systems, diligently monitoring progress, proactive self-starter
• ▹Experience with cloud services, Airflow, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Spark, Flink, and/or modern cloud-based infrastructure
• ▹Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration within a service-oriented team and the broader organization
