Senior Solutions Engineer

Jobber, a software company for small home service businesses, is hiring a Senior Solutions Engineer for its Partnerships ecosystem, designing API-based integration solutions with external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Business Development, Jobber Engineering and external third parties to propose and design solutions that meet all parties' needs
  • Develop and implement integration strategies that enhance the application marketplace offerings
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimize API solutions (REST and GraphQL)
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment
  • Provide technical support and guidance to partners throughout the integration process
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement within the integration landscape
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to conceptualize, design, and iteratively deliver high-impact features that address customer needs
  • Partner with Product and Design teams to shape and define the strategic product roadmap
  • Actively participate in code reviews and testing processes to ensure code quality and maintainability
  • Champion the development of consistent engineering practices and reusable code solutions
  • Participate in discussions to drive consensus on optimal solutions for complex customer problems
  • Research, promote, and implement industry best practices
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a solutions engineering or similar role
  • Proven experience in application marketplace development and management
  • Strong knowledge of API technologies, including REST and GraphQL
  • Strong communication skills
  • Collaborative problem solving skills coupled with the ability to think on your feet
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing highly scalable, robust software solutions across multiple layers of the technology stack
  • Proven leadership experience championing complex, high-impact projects and serving as core contributor
  • Exceptional proficiency in software design, architecture, and coding, with a focus on maintainability and performance
  • Outstanding collaboration and communication skills, amplifying the team's productivity through mentorship/coaching
  • Strong self-motivation and resourcefulness
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and prioritize tasks effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments
  • Passionate commitment to continuous learning and professional growth
  • Open to candidates based in one of Jobber's hub cities: Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver, or Kitchener-Waterloo

Nice to have

  • Exposure or experience in a tech leadership role
  • Experience with the development stack: React, React Native, TypeScript, GraphQL API layer, and Ruby on Rails on AWS
