Engineering Director, EU

Responsibilities

• ▹Lead a distributed engineering organisation spanning multiple squads, markets and countries
• ▹Build and develop Engineering Managers, Senior Engineering Managers and senior technical leaders
• ▹Partner with Product, Design, Data, Research, Operations, Risk and Compliance leaders on European strategy
• ▹Drive alignment and execution across numerous collectives so Europe gets the capabilities it needs
• ▹Shape market expansion, localisation, regulatory and multi-market product approaches
• ▹Influence priorities and outcomes across teams that do not directly report to you
• ▹Design organisational structures and operating models that let Monzo scale across Europe
• ▹Help identify and validate product-market fit in new markets
• ▹Partner with executive leadership to shape Monzo's European business

Requirements

• ▹Experience leading large engineering organisations through other leaders
• ▹Success operating in complex organisations dependent on cross-team collaboration
• ▹Exceptional relationship-building and influence without direct authority
• ▹Ability to navigate ambiguity and create clarity where ownership is undefined
• ▹Experience scaling organisations through rapid growth or market expansion
• ▹Interest in organisational and business problems, not just technical ones
• ▹Track record of building high-performing leadership teams
