We are looking for a Senior Go Engineer 🗣 Language Proficiency: Upper-Intermediate 🧾 Employment type: Full time 🌍 Candidate Location: Poland, other EU countries, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Armenia, Georgia 🕐 Working Time Zone: CET 🚀 Start: ASAP 🧭 Planned Work Duration: 3 months this year + 3 months next year 👥 Customer Description: A global mobility and urban services platform enabling users to book rides and other services while negotiating fares directly with service providers. ⚙️ Project Phase: ongoing 🤝 Soft Skills: • Ability to explain project architecture and the business problems addressed in depth. • Ability to independently clarify ambiguous requirements, define metrics, address concurrency and edge cases, and articulate technical trade-offs. 💡 Hard Skills / Must Have: • 5+ years of production backend engineering experience and complex product development. • Strong Go expertise: concurrency, synchronization, context propagation, goroutine lifecycle management, and graceful shutdown. • Experience with high-load distributed systems and microservice architecture. • Strong SQL and data modelling: schema design, joins, indexes, query analysis, replication, partitioning, and sharding. • Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL and Redis caching strategies. • Sync/async inter-service communication using gRPC and message brokers, including delivery guarantees and idempotency. • Observability: metrics, logging, tracing, alerting, and Go profiling. • Understanding of NFRs, SLA/SLO/SLI, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and cloud platforms. • Maintainable, testable code; unit/integration testing; Git and code review workflows. ✨ Hard Skills / Nice to Have: • Event-driven architecture experience with Kafka, NATS, or RabbitMQ. • Infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform or Pulumi. • Performance profiling and optimisation of Go services. • Familiarity with Figma, cross-platform collaboration, and AI-assisted development tools. 📌 Responsibilities and Tasks: • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and features. • Drive technical research, architecture design, and implementation. • Collaborate across teams, conduct reviews, and contribute to architectural discussions. • Own service delivery, production monitoring, maintenance, and observability. • Mentor engineers and participate in agile ceremonies. 🧪 Technology Stack: Go, Microservices, PostgreSQL/MySQL, Redis, gRPC, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, CI/CD 📞 Interview stages: • English check (15 minutes) • internal technical interview (1-1,5 hour) • client interview (1 hour) • client interview – live coding • client interview – cultural fit (45 minutes) What we offer Model: B2B contract with Bonapolia - one contract, one monthly invoice Rate: negotiated per candidate seniority and client budget Payment: monthly invoice, paid on the same schedule the client pays us (usually 30 days) Contract written under your country's law We handle the client-side paperwork: MSA, NDA, invoicing 🏢 About Bonapolia Bonapolia is a family-owned IT staff augmentation team based in Lisbon.
