Senior Software Engineer – Data Infrastructure

Responsibilities

• ▹Contribute to the long-term technical roadmap for data-driven and ML development at Plaid
• ▹Lead key data infrastructure projects: ML development golden paths, offline streaming, new ETL pipeline infrastructure, data warehouse/lakehouse capabilities
• ▹Work with stakeholders in other teams to define technical roadmaps for key backend systems
• ▹Debug, troubleshoot, and reduce operational burden for the Data Platform
• ▹Grow the team through mentorship and leadership, reviewing technical documents and code changes

Requirements

• ▹5+ years of software engineering experience
• ▹Extensive hands-on experience with a strong track record delivering projects in Data Infrastructure/Platform domains
• ▹Deep understanding of ML Infrastructure (feature stores, training/serving infrastructure, model monitoring) OR Data Infrastructure (data warehouses, lakehouses, Apache Spark, streaming, workflow orchestration)
• ▹Strong cross-functional collaboration, communication, and project management skills
• ▹Proficiency in coding, testing, and system design for reliable, scalable solutions
• ▹Demonstrated leadership, including mentoring and guiding junior engineers

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with Databricks, Airflow, AWS EMR
