Senior Platform Engineer

Backend Developer • Remote • Vollzeit • 📍 London

A Platform Product Engineer role on Attio's Security, Infrastructure and Performance team, combining high-level engineering strategy with hands-on operational excellence, treating the internal platform as a product for all development teams.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain platform infrastructure using declarative IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi), ensuring reproducible, version-controlled, auditable environments
  • Proactively manage infrastructure capacity to consistently meet or exceed SLOs for latency, error rates, and availability
  • Act as first-line responder for critical system incidents; triage, diagnose, and resolve complex production issues rapidly
  • Drive a culture of blameless post-mortems, ensuring root causes are identified and long-term preventative measures implemented as code
  • Implement, maintain, and evolve fully automated CI/CD pipelines with best practices for fast, reliable, secure delivery
  • Implement and manage observability systems (metrics, centralised log aggregation, distributed tracing) for deep insight into system health

Requirements

  • Demonstrable, hands-on experience applying core DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to manage, monitor, and scale production systems
  • Deep understanding of the SRE mindset, including SLO/SLA creation and monitoring, error budget management, toil reduction, and blameless post-incident review
  • Expertise in one or more major public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including network configuration, security best practices (IAM, security groups), compute services (EC2, GKE, ECS), and managed services
  • In-depth knowledge of container technologies, specifically Docker, and orchestrating them at scale using Kubernetes (networking, storage, and security configurations)
  • Proficiency in one or more modern software languages (e.g., Typescript, Go, Python, Rust) for building high-performance, resilient production systems
  • Proven experience developing robust, maintainable, well-tested automation scripts, services, and pipelines
  • Experience owning, managing, and maintaining mission-critical operational tooling

Nice to have

  • Proven ability to drive cultural and process change fostering collaboration between development and operations teams
  • Background implementing and managing centralised logging solutions (e.g., Splunk, DataDog)
  • Familiarity with distributed tracing tools (e.g., Jaeger, Zipkin) and APM solutions
