iOS Engineer, Device Integration

Responsibilities

• ▹Build Sesame's standalone companion app — the foundation for a new consumer product category
• ▹Work with hardware/firmware teams to design and implement a seamless iOS user experience
• ▹Work across engineering, design, and product to ship complex projects that delight users
• ▹Work with other iOS, Android, and web engineers to define Sesame's mobile and web strategy
• ▹Write clean, testable, and maintainable code with a focus on performance and reliability
• ▹Participate in code reviews, CI/CD, and App Store release cycles

Requirements

• ▹Strong intuition and deeply considered opinions about iOS app design and aesthetics, with a portfolio to show for it
• ▹Passion for the complex engineering behind lightning-fast, ergonomic, innovative iOS UI
• ▹Strong knowledge of iOS frameworks, Core Bluetooth, and Apple design guidelines
• ▹Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across disciplines
• ▹Experience building apps for IoT or wearable devices
• ▹Experience working with BT/BLE-enabled devices and/or OTA firmware updates

Nice to have

• ▹Always up to date on the latest iOS UI/UX design patterns and the Apple release cycle
• ▹Lots of hands-on experience across the iOS SDLC: build trains, test strategy, latest UI architecture patterns
• ▹Experience working with iOS AccessorySetupKit
• ▹Experience in a startup or fast-moving product environment
